Room Tour: Boho on a Budget

Room Tour: Boho on a Budget

The room we're featuring today is my sister, McKayla's, and we are so excited to show it off! She really loves keeping things simple and bright, with just a touch of a bohemian-rustic feeling. And, of course, she loves plants! She is still in the process of decorating everything, so for this room tour, I staged the bedroom to give off the vibe she wants!

Just a few months ago, this room was dingy and dark, complete with yellowish-cream paint and ugly, stained white carpet everywhere. My sister, dad, and I put in some work to repaint the walls and install vinyl "hardwood" floors. It made a huge difference!

The headboard and bed platform were handmade by Avery, who recycled the wood from an old project. My mom and I pitched in to roughen it up, and McKayla used a dark wax to create the aged-wood look.

We will be posting a DIY on how to make this exact headboard/bed platform soon!

This candle was handmade using an old tea tin from the thrift store, wax, essential oils, and lavender buds.

DIY tutorial coming soon on how to make yours!

The pillows are from World Market, the salt lamp is from amazon, and the plant containers are all thrifted!

My mom picked some flowers from the yard and put them in these cute little vases from the thrift store. It brightens up the space, and adds to the whole vibe.

I made this GRL PWR sign by cutting a 2 by 4 down to size, sanding and staining it, and then using a stencil to paint in the letters. I painted the heart in the middle and voila!

We will also be posting a DIY on how to make these simple wooden signs in the near future, they add so much personality to a room because you can completely customize them!

The couch was McKayla's amazing thrift find! Its a beautiful dark green color, and the wooden details totally match the rustic-boho vibe.

The throw blankets are from World Market, the coffee table is from Ikea, and the pillows and plant pot were both thrifted.

We hope you enjoyed this room tour! Check in soon to see the DIY projects that went into this cozy space!
